Stand firm aginst him, and be strong in your faith.  Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

When I am going through rough times in my life this verse reminds me that there is a god that is there for me. It also reminds me that I have brothers and sisters through Christ that I can talk to.

 I think that Christ is important in sports because of how big of a platform athletes often have. It is our responsibility to share the love that our Heavenly Father has bestowed upon us and share it with our teammates and coaches. It is also important to lead by example and to be slow to anger when things may not be going your way. As an athlete, when others see how we behave, they are influenced, we can use this influence to our advantage and lead others to the love and eternal life we have because of Christ.
